When
you're tired of the noise or unable to hold your transmission in
gear it's time to rebuild. But before you start you have three choices
to consider.
|
|
You
could rebuild the transmission yourself or have an experienced
friend do it for you. That way you can be sure every part has
been inspected, every obviously damaged part has been replaced,
and save some money at the same time. Auto Gear and Auto Gear
distributors can assure you of purchasing the highest quality
replacement parts, so you can rest easy on that score, but we
can't look over your shoulder -- you still might miss something
important, and you'll be guaranteeing your own work.

|
|
If
you can afford it, you can take it to a competition transmission
specialist -- they'll do it right, use the highest quality parts,
and stand behind their work. If you're not sure how to find
one contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.

Your
third, and least satisfactory, option is a commercial transmission
shop. They're not all bad -- far from it -- but they often survive
by using the least expensive parts and replacing the fewest
number possible. Substandard parts always cost less, and the
part that should have been replaced but wasn't, will cost you
(not them) a second rebuild sometime soon. If you must use a
commercial transmission shop, ask around. We may be able to
help you there, as well. |
